Chartered Accountants South East (CASE) was founded as The South Eastern Society of Chartered Accountants, a district society, formed in 1932 by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). At that time the area it covered was the counties of Kent, East and West Sussex, and the Southern part of Surrey.

On 16 January 1998, the district society incorporated to become the South Eastern Society of Chartered Accountants Limited, a company limited by guarantee. Operating in partnership with SESCA Limited, Chartered Accountants South East (CASE) provides a community hub where members can connect and share their knowledge. The society has over 10,000 members, the largest membership outside of London.

CASE now covers the counties of Kent, East and West Sussex, and the Southern part of Surrey except for Redhill and Reigate which belong to ICAEW Chartered Accountants Croydon.

At the EGM held earlier this year the members agreed to remain as an independent society run separately to the ICAEW. The society is run by members for members in the area. Activities include training courses, seminars and conferences run through its subsidiary SESCA, practice breakfasts, business breakfasts, Bank of England breakfast, visits to The Houses of Parliament, networking events and events for retired members.

“As Chartered Accountants, our greatest assets are the networks we build and the knowledge we share. As the President of Chartered Accountants South East, my mission is to create a welcoming space for all of our members to build lasting relationships and continue on their paths of achieving excellence in the work that we do .”
